SoulCare Summit: Who is my neighbor?

We invite you to join us for our 2026 SoulCare Summit at Rolling Ridge as we launch our 2026-27 year. This year, we continue our three year series on contemplative spirituality as we consider "Who is my neighbor?" as we explore the theme, "In All Things, For Everyone." How do we see the "other"? What does it mean to love our neighbor? What is the intersection of spirituality and social justice? How do we balance action and contemplation? How do we live wholly present to the Holy Presence in everyone and everything?

Our SoulCare Summit this year is grounded in two Day Apart Retreats with overnight options to provide a full retreat experience.

On Saturday, August 29th, we consider "Who is my neighbor? The Least of These" as we invite activists to share about what it means to be a neighbor and care for those who are on the margins and daily encountering the challenges in this current socio-political climate. We will be exploring our relationship with immigrants, the environment, and trans-gendered individuals.

On Sunday, August 30th, we consider "Who is my neighbor?" as "A priest, a rabbi, and reverend walk into Rolling Ridge..." It's no joke as we create an interfaith space to consider the question of how religions that have historically excluded are now learning to become safe spaces of inclusion. How has "othering" people as enemy prevented us from "loving" and living into the Golden Rule?

Our 2026 SoulCare Summit is open to all -- of any (or no) spiritual or religious background. The weekend will be a powerful experience of discussion and learning.

Because we know how important these conversations will be, we do not want costs to limit participation. Thus, there is no registration fee for this event. It is being offered "by donation" with panelists volunteering their time. Please pay whatever you can afford. The suggested gift is $25 to cover the meal each day. However, if you are able to give more to help offset expenses for another person, we would appreciate the generosity. Thank you.

Add overnight options to create a one or two night retreat for yourself:

* For one night = add $128 (includes dinner the night before, overnight in a private room, and breakfast the next day)

* For two nights = add $256 (includes 2 dinners, 2 breakfasts, and 2 nights overnight in a private room.)

Overnight guests have the option to add one or more spiritual direction sessions or Reiki sessions to their stay. If you choose to add a spiritual direction or wellness session, we will connect you with one of our practitioners. Time to be arranged after registration.

* Spiritual Direction = $68 for one 45 minute session or $125 for two.

* Reiki = $50 for one 20 minute session or $90 for two.

About the Leaders

Larry Jay

As the Executive Director of Rolling Ridge, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Jay works in partnership with the staff to ensure that the guest experience at the Ridge is top quality. He also partners with retreat leaders to provide excellent programming at the Ridge, and is available to speak about the ongoing ministry and historic mission of Rolling Ridge as a place of rest, retreat, and transformation. A trained spiritual director and ordained American Baptist pastor, Larry (as he is known by friends) is a graduate of UCLA, Golden Gate Seminary, Franciscan School of Theology, American Baptist Seminary of the West, and the Gateways to God Missional Spiritual Direction Program. He is also Adjunct Faculty at Merrimack College in the Masters of Spirituality and Spiritual Direction programs. Eco-spirituality is his passion (and was his doctoral dissertation), encouraging everyone to live into the fullness of our connection with our True Self, nature, God, and all people.
