Pray and Paddle with the wisdom of Bill McKibbenwith Kent Harrop
In the busy-ness of the Christmas season, we invite you to come away to the Ridge for an IN-PERSON retreat. As we make time to embrace the waiting and settling in, we will breathe in the hope, joy, peace and love that this time of Advent offers.
In the quiet and silence of our Advent Quiet Day, we invite you to sit, linger, ponder, behold, wander, wonder...wait. During the times of silence, there will be nativity scenes from around the world for reflection, Christmas stories, items to create, coloring pages and mandalas to capture your feelings and reflections of the day. We will offer reflections and spiritual exercises to prepare you for the holy-days of Advent. We will also have both indoor and outdoor labyrinths as you walk through the day.
Our Advent Quiet Day Retreat allows you to join us for just the day (Monday, November 30th) but if you like, you can add up to two overnights creating a longer personal retreat. In the silence and stillness, you will have opportunities to reflect and pray, and if you choose, to meet with a spiritual director who will companion you at the start and follow-up at the end of your retreat at Rolling Ridge.
Overnight options begin on Sunday, November 29th and continue through Tuesday, December 1st. You can choose one night or two, one session of companioning or two. Select what works for you when you register. The hope is that meeting with a spiritual director on Sunday will ready your soul for the Monday Advent Quiet Day, so that on Tuesday you can process your experience with the same director as you journey through Advent towards Christmas.
There will always be too much to do on your holiday list. We invite you to sit by the fire, enjoy the beauty of the Ridge, and live into the season of Advent as we prepare our hearts for Christmas and Christ being born anew in you during this holy season.
COSTS
Please also join us for our Advent Prayer Journey ONLINE on Sundays at the Vespers Hour of 6:00 pm from November 29th to December 27th.
