"In my soul there is a temple, a shrine, a mosque, a church where I kneel in prayer where no wall or names exist." Rabia Basra, 8th-century, female Sufi mystic

As contemplatives on our sacred journeys, we sometimes can become so still and quiet that, “all falls away except God and God alone is sufficient,” as Saint Teresa of Avila reminded us. Here, as Moses does at the burning bush on Mt. Sinai, Exodus 3:5, we too gladly remove our sandals, so nothing stands between us and touching the holy ground of God. And barefoot now, we stand empty, yet full, hearing softly across time, Sloka 13-17, from the Song of God, the Bhagavad Gita, “Deep in the hearts of all lies the light of all lights forever beyond darkness.” And the words of Jesus suddenly echo through our soul, “You are the light of the world,” Matthew 5:14, lifting us up on the wings of grace as our humble hearts can only bow down in gratitude.

Join us for a very special one day retreat with Rev. Stephanie Rutt on Wednesday, September 2.

In this Day Apart, we will step light to journey deep on a contemplative journey experiencing a sampling of practices from the world’s most prominent sacred traditions. We’ll chant some of the most beloved scriptural phrases, move together in simple circle prayer, and use journaling, drawing, as we may be so drawn, to explore more deeply the silence awakening the Holy within.

Come. Discover the place where no walls or names exist.

Cost: $92 (includes program from 9:30-3:30, pastries and lunch)

Interested in a deeper dive?  Consider the 10 week ONLINE series as Rev. Stephanie will provide a larger sampling of the sacred practices from across the major faith traditions.  Click here for more details.
