I'm Looking for a Spiritual Directorwith Rolling Ridge staff
We are thrilled to be hosting our SECOND Pride Shabbat at Rolling Ridge! We are partnering with Havurat Shalom to bring this interfaith effort to our community with Rabbi Karen Landy leading the service, which will include both traditional Jewish prayers, music, and chanting, as well as more modern prayers and music. Local clergy participating include Reverend Dr. Lawrence Jay from Rolling Ridge (American Baptist); Minister Renée Manning from West Parish Church (United Church of Christ), and Reverend Genevieve Hosterman from South Church (United Church of Christ); along with a speaker from Keshet, the National LGBTQA Jewish organization.
Shabbat means sabbath and the Jewish service of welcoming in the Sabbath on Friday nights is one that Havurat Shalom has always treasured as a part of this tradition. For this special Shabbat, during Pride month, all are encouraged to attend to celebrate our LGBTQIA+ family while being able to experience some beautiful Jewish traditions. We hope that ALL will join us to celebrate the inclusion that comes when we join our hearts in prayer.
If you have ever been interested in finding out what a Jewish Shabbat service is like, this is the one to join us for!
A tot Shabbat pizza picnic for young children and their families will start at 5:30pm in the picnic area at Rolling Ridge. Click here to RSVP for pizza. Families are welcome to stay for the main service afterwards. All are welcome to RSVP and join us for pizza.
The Shabbat service will begin at 6:30pm. All are welcome! Please bring your own chairs, picnic blankets, bug spray, water, etc. as the service will be on the beautiful grass. This event will occur rain or shine as we have an indoor location at Rolling Ridge.
Please bring your own chairs and picnic blankets as the service will be in the beautiful grass near the picnic tables and Mico Kaufman statue entitled "The Web," adjacent to the main Rolling Ridge parking lot.
We hope that you will join us as we celebrate the inclusion that comes as we join our hearts in prayer.
Although this event is free, your generous donation allows Rolling Ridge to offer mission-centered opportunities at no charge as we create a safe and sacred space that connects ALL people, God and creation.
