SoulCare Summit 2025

Program Details

We invite you to join us for our 2025 SoulCare Summit at Rolling Ridge as we launch our 2025-26 year. This year, we continue our three year series on contemplative spirituality as we explore the theme, "Seeing Holy Presence."

How do you see God? What images do you hold of the Divine? What do you believe about what is beyond yourself? Where is your Higher Power?

How we see Holy Presence is the foundation for our spiritual life and how we care for our souls.

When someone asks, "Do you believe in God?," what image comes to mind? Do you answer with a caveat, like, "I believe in God, but not the ‘old man in the sky" type of God? When it comes to "God," have you ever heard - or said - ‘If that’s what God is like, I don’t want anything to do with Him"?

How we think about God makes a huge difference to our relationship with Them.

During this Day Apart, we’ll do a little talking and a lot of artwork (no talent required!) as we explore who the Divine is for each of us. There are no right or wrong answers! All are welcome, of any faith or no faith background.

"God" (or however you conceive of the Divine, the Holy, your Higher Power) is not contained in a box or a tradition. Like the wind that blows, there is a mystery to Spirit that is beyond our images. We invite you to join us for our 2025 SoulCare Summit (and if available, stay for the whole weekend) and take time to imagine God and explore how YOU see the Divine.

Please note: No art experience or expertise is needed; written and visual expressions will be for your eyes only, unless you offer / choose to share.

Cost: $89 includes the SoulCare Summit day retreat on Saturday, August 30th from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm with pastries and lunch

Add overnight options to create a one or two night retreat for yourself: August 29-31

* For one night = add $88 (includes 2 additional meals and overnight in a private room. Optional spiritual direction add on is available.)

* For two nights = add $176 (includes 4 additional meals and overnight in a private room. Optional spiritual direction add on is available.)

Overnight guests have the option to add one or more spiritual direction sessions to their stay. If you choose to add a spiritual direction session, we will connect you with one of our spiritual companions for a 45-minute direction session. Time to be arranged after registration.

Spiritual Direction = $68 for one session or $125 for two.

About the Leaders

Carrie Ives

Rev. Carrie A. Ives is an ordained interfaith minister and spiritual companion with personal and professional experience working with cancer and other chronic illnesses. She leads workshops, classes, and worship services at Tree of Life Interfaith Temple in Amherst, NH, and is also a member of First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Chelmsford, MA. Carrie recently completed a Master of Arts in Spirituality degree at Merrimack College.

Larry Jay

As the Executive Director of Rolling Ridge, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Jay works in partnership with the staff to ensure that the guest experience at the Ridge is top quality. He also partners with retreat leaders to provide excellent programming at the Ridge, and is available to speak about the ongoing ministry and historic mission of Rolling Ridge as a place of rest, retreat, and transformation. A trained spiritual director and ordained American Baptist pastor, Larry (as he is known by friends) is a graduate of UCLA, Golden Gate Seminary, Franciscan School of Theology, American Baptist Seminary of the West, and the Gateways to God Missional Spiritual Direction Program. He is also Adjunct Faculty at Merrimack College in the Masters of Spirituality and Spiritual Direction programs. Eco-spirituality is his passion (and was his doctoral dissertation), encouraging everyone to live into the fullness of our connection with nature, God, and all people.
