Program Details

On Lake Cochichewick, we share in Lectio Divina, an ancient practice of listening to a piece of sacred wisdom three times. Each reading includes a question to ponder, followed by an extended time of paddling in silence.

On this paddle, we will be accompanied by the wisdom of mystic and anchoress, Julian of Norwich. Julian of Norwich (1343–1416), from the Middle Ages, lived as an anchoress in a cell attached to the wall of a church in Norwich, England. An anchoress' life revolved around prayer, the Eucharist, and offering counsel and prayer to those passing by. Julian wrote Revelation of Divine Love and said, “And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”
