Program Details

In partnership with ISHA (Institute of Spiritual Healing & Aromatherapy, Rolling Ridge is now able to offer a one-year certificate training program in Healing Touch Spiritual Ministries. Building on the Christian tradition of the laying-on of hands and anointing, a Healing Touch spiritual ministry program can help energize your church community, equip lay leadership, and build a network of pastoral care. Margaret Leslie, President of ISHA, and Jan Whitten, trained Healing Touch practitioner, will provide instruction, as participants provide support and encouragement as a cohort community. Register for upcoming sessions in a cohort, retreat setting. 2020 dates and rates are:

SESSION 1: CANCELLED. Please check the ISHA website for 101 and 102 courses.
SESSION 2 (HTSM 103): November 19-21, 2021 (Fri-Sun) - COMPLETED
SESSION 3 (HTSM 104), January 14-16, 2022 (Fri-Sun) - Registration still open.
SESSION 4 (HTSM 105): March 10-13, 2022 (Thurs-Sun) - Registration still open.

Arrival time for all retreats is 5pm on first day.
Departure time is 3pm on final day.

About the Leaders

Margaret Leslie

Margaret Leslie - President of ISHA, Director of HTSM, MS, LMT, HTSM-CP/I,CCA

Margaret is a certified Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry practitioner/instructor and certified Clinical Aromatherapist with 25 years experience as a School Psychologist.
Since 1996, she has been coordinating Healing Touch, Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry and Clinical Aromatherapy classes in the Knoxville area.

Throughout her life she has been active in her church and involved in the Order of St.Luke. For several years, she has maintained a private practice in Knoxville and
Dandridge, TN. Bountiful Health Magazine published her article on Healing Touch in the treatment of breast cancer.

As President of ISHA and Director of HTSM, Margaret specializes her teaching in the Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry program. She volunteers to teach this work in third
world countries and shares in the Healing Ministry of her church.

Jana Marie Whitten

Jan Whitten (Deaconess– APRN, MS, HTCP, HTSM-CP/I), also known as Jana Marie, is a holistic nurse with over 50 years of experience working with adults in acute care, home care, nursing education, and mental health. She is retired from a private practice as a psychiatric nurse practitioner where she integrated Healing Touch and other holistic modalities. As a Deaconess in the United Methodist Church, she follows her calling as congregational health minister/ leader of healing ministry, providing spiritual direction, and leading retreats. Jana Marie feels deeply called to healing ministry and to helping others to be themselves fully. She has a Master’s Degree in Community Health Nursing, graduate certificate in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing, certificate in Congregational Health Ministry, and certificate in Spiritual Direction. She is discerning a transformation of her practice to provide Healing Touch and Aromatherapy.
