Easter Sunrise Service

Program Details

Join us at Point of Pines on the shore of Lake Cochichewick on Sunday morning, April 4, 2021 at 6am for a glorious start to your Easter Sunday. This sunrise service is a joint partnership with Free Christian Church and Rolling Ridge. All are welcome. Mac McSweeney, FCC elder, will bring the message, with music provided by Tiffany Wilson.

We will gather at 6:00 am in the courtyard of Rolling Ridge. Please try to arrive on time or a few minutes early. Following an opening reflection, we will walk as a group to Point of Pines, our outdoor chapel along the shore of Lake Cochichewick. There are benches, with plenty of standing room. You are free, however, to bring your own folding chair to maintain appropriate physical distance.

Please dress warm, wearing a facial covering and walking shoes. Point of Pines is about a quarter mile from the parking lot, which is approximately a 5 minute walk. Because it may be dark when you arrive, you may want to bring a flashlight.

WEATHER UPDATE (please check back on Saturday, April 3rd): Current forecast is clear and COLD with temperatures in the mid-20's. Dress warm. All is a go.

About the Leaders

Lawrence Jay

As Executive Director, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Jay guides the vision and direction of Rolling Ridge. As well as working with our staff to ensure the best possible guest experience, he partners with retreat leaders to provide excellent programming at the Ridge. A trained spiritual director and ordained American Baptist pastor, Larry (as he is known by friends) is a graduate of UCLA, Golden Gate Seminary, Franciscan School of Theology, American Baptist Seminary of the West, and the Gateways to God Missional Spiritual Direction Program. He is also Adjunct Faculty at Merrimack College in the Masters of Spirituality and Spiritual Direction programs. Eco-spirituality is his passion (and was the subject of his doctoral dissertation), encouraging everyone to live into the fullness of our connection with nature, God, and all people.
