Program Details

Beginning in 1212 when Clare left her home to follow the ways of Francis of Assisi, Francis and Clare began a special relationship and shared a common spirituality that undergirded the founding of their religious orders.Yet in 1958, PopePius XIInamed St. Clare the Patron Saint of Television and in 1979, Pope John Paul II named St. Francis the Patron Saint of Ecology. What do television and ecology have in common?

In celebration of the Feast of St. Francis, we invite you to join us for a retreat that celebrates the relationship of Francis and Clare and looks at the spirituality that joins these two together.During this Day Apart, you will discover a common spiritual practice of Ecology and Television and learn the myths and the truths behind the spiritual companionship Francis and Clare.

With time for personal reflection walking the grounds of Rolling Ridge, and corporate time of sharing and video interaction, you will find your spirit refreshed and challenged by these medieval saints whose connection with each other and the Earth still inspires hearts today.
