Program Details

You are invited:  Experience the power . . . Explore the ancient and modern mysteries . . . Calm the soul . . . Transform the spirit . . . Discover the sacred in everyday life . . . Perceive the connection of the energy centers (Chakras) . . . Let us journey together through the labyrinth.

Throughout the day we will share time in meditation, walking the labyrinths as a group and individually.  We will review and discuss the history, various designs, and locations of labyrinths across the globe.  We will also explore the multitude of everyday uses of labyrinths, and you will create finger labyrinths to take home in order that you have access to walk a labyrinth at any time.

As we mark 18 years since the September 11th attack, we will also take time during the Day Apart to walk in remembrance of all who died and their family members, the survivors, the emergency responders, recovery and cleanup workers, and volunteers who helped in the aftermath.  On this somber day in U.S. history, we will walk the labyrinth in support of peace to bring healing across our nation and around the globe.

YOU ARE INVITED AND ENCOURAGED TO BRING A ROCK.
The two permanent labyrinths at Rolling Ridge were created by Dot Wright-Irwin, with love, as a gift to the Ridge community and community at-large. The majority of the rocks used to build them were local, meaning found on the property. However, over the years, Dot invited students and faculty from Lesley University, along with co-workers and friends to bring rocks as well. The labyrinths at Rolling Ridge now have rocks from 25 of the 50 states as well as from numerous other countries. Rocks were brought from Japan, Thailand, Philippines, Canada, England, Turkey, Greece, and Ghana, West Africa. Over the years students from Dot's Theories of Healing class have also brought rocks while on field trips to the Ridge labyrinths.  You are invited to bring a rock (football size or larger) to this Labyrinth Day Apart Retreat for a loved one or in remembrance of all those lost on September 11th as well. In this way, the labyrinths will be infused with your loving energy and the labyrinth energy becomes stronger. Let us continue to walk for peace and healing around the world. Amen. Thank you.
