God said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you” (Genesis 12.1).
There is not a single story in the Bible about the status quo. From “Let there be light” to a new heaven and earth, scripture tells story after story about transformation. God is the Becoming One, whose continual coming-into-being creates the present, moment by moment. In this retreat we'll contemplate the transitions we're experiencing and let God lead us lovingly through those transitions.
Steve Garnaas-Holmes is a poet, songwriter and retired pastor. He writes daily reflections at unfoldinglight.net. From 1973 to 2012 he wrote and performed with the Montana Logging and Ballet Company, a quartet that performed music and comedy around the country and occasionally on NPR’s Weekend Edition.
