Seeing Through the Eyes of the Aramaic Jesus Day Apart

Program Details

Dr. Neil-Douglass Klotz, a renowned scholar has been leading studies on Jesus from the perspective of his native language Aramaic for over 40 years, uncovering deeper meanings and nuances of Jesus's teachings and their modern relevance.

Drawing from Dr. Douglas-Klotz's work, this Day Apart invites us to explore the living words of Jesus through Aramaic. We will journey from a deeper understanding of the heart of Jesus' native language to experiencing his teachings with renewed depth and explore how we might embody these teachings in our daily lives.

Experienced retreat leader, Henry Schoenfield, will help us "See Holy Presence" (our 2025-26 theme) in new ways -- through Jesus' eyes and language.

Henry Schoenfield

Henry Schoenfield is a trained spiritual director, ordained minister, and certified professional coach. A lifelong spiritual seeker, he has been teaching and offering spiritual companionship to people of many faith backgrounds and beliefs for over twenty years. Henry is deeply rooted in the Christian contemplative path – drawing from Ignatius Loyola, Karl Rahner, and many others. He is a student of the Christian Wisdom path in the lineage of Rev. Dr. Cynthia Bourgeault. He works with individuals and groups who seek to deepen their lives of faith and service.
