Program Details

On Lake Cochichewick, we share in Lectio Divina, an ancient practice of listening to a piece of sacred wisdom three times. Each reading includes a question to ponder, followed by an extended time of paddling in silence.

On this paddle, we will be accompanied by the wisdom of Saint Francis of Assisi, mystic and monk. Francis of Assisi (1181–1226) founded the Franciscan order, based on poverty and hospitality. He experienced the Divine in nature, seeking to live in harmony with our natural world. He said, “Lord, grant that I might not so much seek to be loved as to love.”
