Program Details

As we continue our 2025-2026 theme of "Seeing Holy Presence," our Lenten series focuses on spiritual practices that help us nurture our relationship with God,

This Lenten season, join us for "Inviting and Writing: Spiritual Journaling for All" on Thursday, February 26th with Jennifer Revill.

Spiritual journaling is a practice with powerful potential to nurture our spiritual growth and enhance our exploration of the Divine. It can be easily adopted by those who already have some sort of writing practice, but it can also be a terrific entry point for non-writers to discover how one's own words can be nuanced tools for spiritual discernment.

This Day Apart retreat will give participants an opportunity to explore the power, meaning, and grace that may come from writing about their spiritual lives. In the first half, we will explore "Inviting": Asking for God's blessing on our desire to write, summoning creative energies, and taking inspiration from the words of other journalers and memoirists who have sought discovery through writing. The second half will be for "Writing": Discussing writing tools and techniques, starting to write our own spiritual stories, and sharing our work in the supportive space of our circle of writers.

Led by Jennifer Revill, the curriculum in this Day Apart Retreat will be guided in part by two books on the topic: "How to Keep a Spiritual Journal" by Ron Klug, and "Journal Keeping: Writing for Spiritual Growth" by Luann Budd, as well as by Jennifer's own experience as a writer and diarist.

Cost: $92 (includes program from 9:30-3:30, pastries and lunch)
