As we continue in our 2025-26 theme at Rolling Ridge of "Seeing Holy Presence," we know that our understanding of the Bible shapes our understanding of God, ourselves, and the world.  join us for our next book study as we consider Richard Rohr's 2008 book, republished in 2022, "Things Hidden: Scripture as Spirituality."   Beginning on January 18th through June 21st, we will meet ONLINE to deep dive this life changing book on the first. third and fifth Sundays of the month from 3:00-4:30 pm eastern.

About the book:

"The Bible is meant to be about transformation, not merely information. In this new edition of Things Hidden, Franciscan friar Richard Rohr invites you to experience Scripture as spirituality—as a living text that can breathe new life into your relationship with God and change your way of seeing the world.

"Diving deep into topics like morality, power, and wisdom, Rohr paints a picture of a biblical God who is grace-filled and abundant, and who calls us to be fully alive. Things Hidden will invigorate your relationship with the Bible and leave you feeling nourished, hopeful, and better able to embody a Christ-centered spirituality.

"Drawing on scripture, history, and spiritual practice, Rohr articulates a transformative view of Jesus Christ as a portrait of God’s constant, unfolding work in the world. “God loves things by becoming them,” he writes, and Jesus’s life was meant to declare that humanity has never been separate from God—except by its own negative choice. When we recover this fundamental truth, faith becomes less about proving Jesus was God, and more about learning to recognize the Creator’s presence all around us, and in everyone we meet."

Join us for our contemplative study of Things Hidden beginning January 21st for twelve sessions, on the first, third, and fifth Sundays (with the exception of Easter), through June 21st. You are invited to jump in and out as your schedule allows. And each time you will find ONLINE a warm and friendly community, open to exploring together the easy and more challenging concepts.  Come with your questions and sharings, or simply sit and enjoy the conversation.

Although there is no charge for our book study, your generous donation allows the Ridge to continue offering spiritually inspiring events to connect all people, God, and creation as we create safe and sacred space for deep listening and spiritual companionship. Thanks for your support!

In preparation for our look at Things Hidden, we encourage to read Rohr's What Do We Do With the Bible.
