Program Details

George Washington Carver, a devout Christian, wouldn’t have called himself a Shaman. Yet, when asked how he could talk with a little flower, he said, “Through it I talk to the Infinite. And what is the Infinite? It’s that still small voice that calls up the fairies.” He often spoke of love and exclaimed, “Everything will give up its secrets if you love it enough.” Together, we’ll explore this love, the gateway to the Infinite, the Soul of the World.

Along the way, we’ll consider the difference between this love, what I call devotional love, and the emotional love we commonly experience. We’ll reflect upon how Carver was entering into what, in Shamanism cosmology, is called the Middle World, the spirit side of this creation; and we’ll discover how we too can love enough to enter into the Soul of the World and receive the wisdom from the stone people, wildflowers and dragonflies.
