Emerging Spirituality: Finding Community for the Journey

Program Details

Our personal spiritual growth often leads us away from traditional and familiar beliefs and religious practices. We experience God no longer as an entity outside of us, but rather as indwelling in our lives and the lives of others.

This one-day program will focus on our emerging spiritualities and the evolution of our experiences of the Divine. We will explore how to become wholly present to that Holy Presence through various mindful worship practices, through new and meaningful ways in which the Divine may reveal itself. Participants will end the day by designing a closing ritual to celebrate spiritual community, and all the fruits of our spiritual becoming.

All are welcome -- those who feel "spiritually homeless," those with a robust spiritual life, and those just beginning the journey of exploration. You are welcome to attend even if you have previously joined us for the "Spiritual Emergence" retreat or our "Spiritual Seekers" series. Rolling Ridge welcomes all to a safe space to explore spirituality and create a community of support for our journeys.

Cost: $89 (includes program from 9:30-3:30, pastries and lunch)

About the Leaders

Jennifer Revill

Jennifer Revill is owner and principal of The Mobile Mystic, a consultancy whose mission is to create opportunities for dialogue and engagement around personal spirituality in the contemporary world. After a long career in public administration, she earned a Master of Arts in Spirituality and Spiritual Direction from Merrimack College, and has developed a curriculum centered on the spirituality of work for Merrimack's graduate spirituality program. Jennifer has a long affiliation with the Northshore Unitarian Universalist Church in Danvers as a congregational facilitator and small group ministry leader. A member of the lead team of The Listening Collective at Rolling Ridge, she also has a one-on-one spiritual companioning practice.

Kris Girrell

Kris Girrell is an author, speaker and leadership coach who has presented a TEDx talk and has written two books on the dark night experience (Wrestling the Angel and Stations in the Night). He holds a Master’s degree in Theological Research from Andover Newton and advanced degrees in Psychology and Counselling from Penn State University. He and his wife Sarah founded and operate a charity, Operation ELF, for the past 22 years, where he still serves as the event manager and as a member of the Board of Directors. Kris has been a program presenter at Rolling Ridge and is a member of the Ridge’s Board of Directors, co-chair of the Program Subcommittee and the Faculty Liaison for the outside presenters of the Ridge’s Day Apart series.
