From the weather of it, here in North Andover at least, it may be hard to tell but summer is here! As you make vacation plans, we hope that you might consider time at Rolling Ridge. Whether for your children, your grandkids, your nephew and nieces, or neighbors, we have new opportunities for CHILDREN and families to explore and enjoy the beauty we have to offer.
New this summer, Rolling Ridge is partnering with Nature Play with Kay to offer Eco-Adventure: God in Nature at the Ridge. Big Kids (ages 6-10) are invited to join us Tuesday, July 23 to Thursday, July 25 for a drop-off program from 1:30-4:30 pm. Each daily session will have a short devotional with kids learning about God through the natural world, playing and experimenting with nature on the 38 acres of Rolling Ridge. With Eco-Adventure, we are looking to connect kids with each other, God and creation.
Little Kids (ages 3-5 with a caregiver) are invited to their own Eco Adventure from Tuesday, August 12 to Thursday, August 14 from 10:30 to noon. Kay Milligan (the Kay of Nature Play) will use nature to help young kids learn about God while they play, sing songs, and explore! Siblings under 3 years of age may attend for free as tagalongs. Don't miss these inaugural events of EcoAdventure to introduce the next generation to the Ridge.
Everyone is invited to our first Family Pride Picnic on Saturday, July 6th as we celebrate the beauty and diversity of how our Creator God has made us. From 12-3 pm, we will gather around the picnic tables of Rolling Ridge and enjoy a delicious lunch with games, music, vendors, and resources to support and encourage families as they learn to fully embrace the beauty of each member. It will be a day of fun and celebration for children of all ages and families of all types. And for United Methodists, our Family Pride Picnic is also an invitation to party and celebrate the diversity and inclusion affirmed by the General Conference last month. There is no charge to join us for the day, but we need everyone to RSVP so that we can provide food for all.
And finally, if you are a family or know a family with a trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming young person, we invite you to Trans Families Together: A Weekend of Connecting (July 5-7). This two night and three day retreat is intended to create safe and sacred space for families to know that they are not alone in the coming out process. There is still room to be part of this first time event as we create a supportive and inclusive community with love, openness, and encouragement as our central values together.
At Rolling Ridge, we are rolling out new opportunities for families and children. We invite you to join us this summer and discover all that we have to offer.
