Advent Prayer Journey 2022

Program Details

As we prepare our hearts for Christmas, we invite you to join Rolling Ridge for an ONLINE Advent and Christmas Prayer Journey. Each Sunday during the weeks of Advent (minus Christmas Day) and the Sunday after Christmas Day, we will offer ONLINE reflections and contemplative sharing at the Vesper Hour from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Larry Peacock's book, "The Living Nativity: Preparing for Christmas with St Francis," will be our guide this season. (A limited number of signed copies of Larry's book available for purchase from the Ridge.)

Along with these five weekly vesper experiences (11/27, 12/4, 12/11. 12/18, and 1/1), we encourage you to journey through this season with a Spiritual Director. Unfortunately the Ridge will not be offering complimentary spiritual companionship this year. However, we can offer recommendations with each spiritual director having different compensation expectations. If you are interested in meeting with a spiritual director during this year's Advent Prayer Journey, please email us.

Although there is no charge for our Advent Prayer Journey, your generous year-end donation will allow Rolling Ridge to continue offering spiritual opportunities to encourage and support those who are seeking a touch of the Divine during these challenging times. About the Leaders

Lawrence Jay

As Executive Director, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Jay guides the vision and direction of Rolling Ridge. In addition to working with staff to ensure an outstanding guest experience, he collaborates with retreat leaders to deliver exceptional programming and is available to speak about the ongoing ministry and historic mission of Rolling Ridge as a place of rest, retreat, and transformation. A trained spiritual director and ordained American Baptist pastor, Larry (as he is known by friends) is a graduate of UCLA, Golden Gate Seminary, Franciscan School of Theology, American Baptist Seminary of the West, and the Gateways to God Missional Spiritual Direction Program. He is also Adjunct Faculty at Merrimack College in the Masters of Spirituality and Spiritual Direction programs and was interviewed about his ministry on Dan Lee's podcast. Eco-spirituality is his passion (and was his doctoral dissertation), encouraging everyone to live into the fullness of our connection with our True Self, nature, God, and all people.
