I Believe in the Sun: Creating and Connecting with Calendula Flower

Tuesday, September 15, 2020 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Calendula flower is an incredible ally for wellness of the body, mind, and spirit. Calendula channels the light of the sun in its physical and metaphysical aspects. In this workshop, we will learn about the multiple qualities and uses of this light-filled, generous plant. Weather pending, we will visit and meditate with calendula flower on the grounds of the Giving Garden at Rolling Ridge. We will engage in the practice of making a ritual cup of tea and use the elements of herbal hot water infusions as a means of encouraging breathwork and journaling.

In the second half of the workshop, we will learn how to make a calendula-infused body oil, from which we will create a simple aromatherapy product that participants will be able to take home. This workshop on creating with calendula flower is an offering on how plants encourage us to remember and connect with the light-giving power of the sun, the physical and spiritual wellness gifts of the plants, and to believe in ourselves and our collective, shared powers of healing.
