Conscious Composting session 1: Where to begin

The first class of the Conscious Composting series will help you to become acquainted with why and how we do composting, with the aim of simply easing you into the process. This class is one for learning the basics.

We will focus on things like choosing the location of your pile/container, factors to consider, the basic why's and how to's, as well as what tools you may need.

We will also go over a bit of the science behind composting and the relationship between humus, the organic component of soil, and humans. The connections are astounding

Nicole Boutiette

Nicole's love for the environment and being outdoors began as a child, as she worked side-by-side in the gardens with her grandmother and mother. She followed her passion throughout her education at UMass Amherst, focusing on environmental sustainability and the green movement.
Before she came to Rolling Ridge to work with the land, Nicole worked at Flatbread Company in Bedford, where she co-pioneered the herbal and floral gardens. As a steward of the Earth, she believes composting can help heal our planet!

Marie Rudzinsky

Marie has been studying, practicing and living mindfully for over 10 years.  She has helped many people with MS, and runs mindfulness programs at Lake Quanapowitt in Wakefield, MA and surrounding areas.  As a retreat facilitator, Marie  will guide the group providing wisdom, experience and compassionate support.
        
She is also qualified to teach the MBSR (Mind, Body Stress Reduction) program and trained with the UMass Center for Mindfulness Medical School.
